Patrick finished his rotation with work on "calecitas." Saturday we see Sean & Charity again as we begin our new schedule. We are adding a guided "practica" - an opportunity to dance with the teacher available for help, advice and instruction from 1 to 1:45 p.m. This will follow the intermediate {second} class at noon. Beginners start at 11 a.m.

Although it is not the first Saturday of the month, this is still the first Saturday of our new schedule. With four weeks left in the month, you may still pay in advance for March at $10 a week -- $40 for the rest of March.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, we continue workshops with Gato & Andrea. Our Video of the Week features Gato summarizing last Tuesday's lesson.. The schedule for the workshops follows.

Gato and Andrea will be guest artists at our next milonga, scheduled for Friday, March 14, at Jacobs. They have become Modesto favorites with performances that always wow the audience. See below.

CALENDAR FOR THE WEEK

MONDAY - Tonight. March 3 & 10: Practica and social dancing at Jacobs,
2501 McHenry. A chance to work on moves learned in class and to get floor time.
For those attending the Tuesday night workshop this is a great opportunity to work on the moves before the next workshop. No fee, but you are urged to order off the menu. We start about 8 p.m. An informal meeting; some come early to dine. We may dance till 9:30 p.m. See Monday at Jacobs.

TUESDAY - (March 4) - Workshop with Gato and Andrea, Modesto Fitness and Racquet Club, 200 Norwegian. Intermediate level and above. Interpreting Pugliese is the theme for this Tuesday. 8 to 9:30 -See below for more details

SATURDAY (March 8) - Classes at Modesto Fitness and Racquet Club with Sean & Charity teaching. 200 Norwegian, off McHenry.
11 a.m.-noon. New schedule begins. Beginner level
Intermediates are still encouraged to come at no additional fee for a chance to perfect technique.
Noon-1 p.m. Intermediate
1-1:45 p.m. Guided practica - An opportunity to just dance, putting into practice what was taught in class, with instructor on hand to help.
Class: $12 per person. Practica only, $5 per person (free with class).
This week pay for the month at $10 a week ($40 for the remainder of the month) Introductory deals for newcomers offer 10 beginner level classes for $75 (can only be used at the beginner level.)

Class 2: Feb. 12: Interpret Di Sarli - simple beats, voleos stops.
Class 3: Feb. 19 - D´Arienzo - simple & double beats.Embellishments.
Class 4: Feb. 26 - (Last week ) Biaggi, Changes of rhythm and resolutions.

Class 5: March 4 - (Tomorrow) Intermediate/ advanced: Interpret Pugliese - Dancing the melody, silences and violins, musicality.
Class 6: March 11 - style. Introduction to cross system and double time. Changes of front. Patterns for the social dance.
Class 7: March 18 - Vals (intermediate and above) Cross system and double time. Turns and musicality.
Class 8: March 25th - Vals (intermediate and up) Walks, displacements turns with syncopation. Alterations. Open embrace.
Fees :
1 or 2 workshops $30 each per person
3 or 4 workshops $27 each,
5 or 6 workshops $25 each
7 or 8 workshops $22 each per person

Buenos Aires Tango Tour with Gato and Andrea!

Trip specially for the Modesto Tango Group, July 12-24, 2008

$1650 for people who register between February 1st and May 31st.

Departure date: July 11th, Arrival in Buenos Aires: July 12th

How to register
1. Fill in the registration form, sent to each person who requests it by e-mail to us montitango@hotmail.com or andreaygato@gmail.com.ar in order to register.

2. Late registration: The second step is the deposit to book the trip.
Deposit: $650 per person (cash) directly to Gato and Andrea while teaching in Modesto from February to March 31st 2008 (receipt will be given).

2nd payment: $600 per person (cash) for early registration paid directly to Gato and Andrea while teaching in Modesto up to March 20th 2008 (receipt will be given)

3rd payment: $500 per person by bank deposit to Gato and Andrea to May 31st.
for early registration, or late registration : ($1650 per person without air fares)
Balance: $1000 balance paid by bank deposit to Gato and Andrea by May 31st.
