Kenny Bell returns to us on Feb. 2 for another couple of workshops. Kenny focuses on technique and comes to us from the HipHop world - He has become one of our most popular guest instructor and gets better all the time, so come and take advantage of the opportunity to work with this young dynamo.

On another note,  the dance contest sponsored by KCBP Community Radio, for , February 23rd has been postponed to perhaps April, as the cost of renting the State Theatre was prohibitive, so more information will be posted when a new venue is found and we hear from them again.

Until later, Mary

Use promotion code LOVINGTANGO (valid until 2/5/19

Our trip is open to all levels.

Many classes are included, with the best teachers available. You will also be taken to milongas where I am a regular.
Of course, not all participants have the same level of engagement with Tango, so other alternatives are offered.

There will also be group outings during the day, between 10:30 am and 2 pm, to explore the city, it's culture, and places relevant to the history of Tango.

In addition to group classes, there will be time for participants to take private lessons.

The itinerary is full, but flexible. Participants are welcome to rest when needed by choosing to skip a class or milonga in order to sleep in late or go to bed early.

I typically organize my trips around March and October every year. The next Buenos Aires tour dates are March 15 to 24, 2019; and then September 27 to October 6.

Come to Buenos Aires with us and immerse yourself in the culture of Tango.

The afternoon of Tango music at the Synagogue was a great success. The music by the Redwood Tango Ensemble covered some contemporary tangos as well as tangos from the Golden Age, at which point everyone was up dancing in the space provided for us in the back of the hall.

Marcelo Molinas two workshops covered some very basics, as well as colgadas (a fun, yet showy move) in the second class. Many people who attended asked that he be brought back again, and we have no doubt that will happen. Marcelo always likes to get a group photo after his workshops - so here it is.

On another note,  KCBP Community Radio, an extension of Modesto Peace Life Center is hosting a dance contest at The State Theater on Saturday, February 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event is called DANCING UNDER THE STARS. "We are looking for dancers. There will be four dance categories, Salsa, Swing(any style),Argentine Tango and Samba. Between each dance category there will raffles and a silent auction. The State Theater will provide food and drinks, and the dancers will be providing exciting family fun entertainment. Please consider participating in this fun evening brought to you by members of your local community.
Register for as a dance couple by calling (209) 581-2812 by Monday, February 11th, 5 p.m. ...ask for Pete Magazinovic

If interested, you have a month to prepare. Let me know and we will see what can be done to groom you for the event.

And now, for the mundane:

Until later, Mary
