Clay Nelson who orgnizes Argentine Tango festivals in Seattle, Portland and Ashland has publisshed a brief Guide to Dance Level in order to help students estimate the level of tango instruction that will best meet their needs.

Roman has begun his rotation as spring looms. Your correspondent was interviewed for the Stanislaus Art Commission newsletter which was an insert to Thursday's Modesto Bee. We will see if this translates into more people at classes and practicas. We also have word that Marcelo & Romina will be guest artists at our next milonga (mark your calendars for March 31. They will also offer workshops during normal class hours that day.

Sean and Charity finished their rotation with a focus on molinete. Roman, with his elegant styling, returns this week and reunites with his Alexander Technique workshop students. It is hoped the rest of us can benefit from those who attended. Friday Fresno hosts a milonga. Modesto was well represented at Roman's Tango/Alexander Technique Workshop. He says all did very well, moving their Tango to a new level. It will be good to see you all back in class on Saturday. Sean and Charity will finish their rotation with us this Saturday at the Racquet Club. Portland's Valentango festival comes mid-month. A number of us went last year, but we understand that between the Jazz festival and Tango festival, all of the likely hotel rooms are used up.

This class is for both leaders and followers and will help you work on your balance , posture, walking and embellishment technique, etc. Technique is the fundamental building block of tango. With a strong foundation you can build a beautiful tango. The class is taught by Michelle Loughlin. for the month of February,

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10 – ANNUAL VALENTINES TANGO DANCE WITH SPECIAL GUEST DJ ROBERTO RIOBO! Beginning tango lesson from 8:00-9:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:45), then we dance from 9:00 -midnight! Cost is $15 for lesson & dance; $10 for dance only. Both include hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, and dance.
