We take a break for Labor Day Weekend at Studio V, as well as the classes at the Senior Center, which is closed for floor refinishing.  We return on Saturday, September 12, to work on the material presented by Kenny Bell at his class last Saturday.  In This Week's Video there is a summary of the class Kenny gave.  When we return on September 12 we come an hour later than normal as there will be a private event taking place during the prior hour.

  CALENDAR FOR THE WEEK

 

WEDNESDAY: Sept 2, 2015,   Class   at  Modesto Senior Center,  211 Bodem Avenue cancelled due to the floor at the Senior Center being refinished.   See you all back on September 9 .  We are currently working on a presentation we will make at the Senior Center Open house on the morning of September 24.

 

SATURDAY: September 12,  2015 -   Studio V,   Pilates and Fitness Studio, 4345 Spyres.  Class starts an hour later - 12:00 pm We work on material presented by Kenny.  $10, unless you attended Kenny's last class, in which case the fee was covered then.

Time:  7:00 - 8:00 pm - practica follows

Price:  $40/mth or $12 drop-in

Description:  In the month of August, the focus is on Sacadas and Ganchos,  from position three.  Ever wonder why your gancho lead that was meant for her leg to go inside had became a sacada instead that led the follower to do an outside flip?  In this class, we will focus on distinguishing the differences of the two so it will be clear to execute and receive each differently.

 

 

Tango by the River, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento:  Performance Tango Class  7:00-8:30 pm! Take your tango to another level. Focus on advanced tango sequences, tango poses, and learning parts of a choreographed routine.

Geared toward dancers with previous tango experience;   not for beginners. No partner necessary.  7:00-8:30 p.m.

$15 drop-in per class or $50 per person/$90 per couple for the Monthly Discount Program (entitles you to attend the Thursday Advanced Tango Class as well!)

Mike & Alisa are two of the four founders of tango in Sacramento.  Together as a couple, Mike & Alisa have over 20 years of tango dancing experience and they have studied with many of the greatest Argentine Tango masters.

After needing to cancel last week, Kenny Bell returns on Saturday with a couple of workshops, one for all levels at 11:00 a.m.and a second one at a continuation level at 12:30.  Kenny's classes are fun and informative.  He has become a sought after tango DJ as well as a popular instructor at many different festivals, here and abroad, so take advantage of the opportunity to work with him.
