Modesto Tango Bulletin, Nov. 28, 2011

Tomorrow, Nov. 29,  7:30 p.m., Mary Stuart Rogers Theater: Duo Revirado combines a versatile, accomplished violinist and conservatory-educated guitarist to create an incomparable chamber ensemble.  Their distinctive melding of guitar and violin produces beautiful, creative Latin, tango, jazz and folk music. 


With tango one of their specialties, we were invited to dance in the lobby before the show between 6:15 and 7:15 p.m..So buy your tickets, come early to dance. Single concert tickets: box seats $30, orchestra $25, parterre and balcony $20,  youth through high school $15. 

Registration for the Argentine Tango Festival and official competition next April  has  begun.  2501 McHenry.  tango practica and social dancing.  7-9 p.m.  Come early to enjoy a meal. No fee, but you are encouraged to order food or drink off the menu.

WEDNESDAY - 3-4 p.m. Beginner classes  at Senior Center: 211 Bodem (at Scenic). Enter through the front door and sign in.  No fee.

SATURDAY -Dec. 3  -  11 a.m..-noon at Sophia's Dance Journey,  711 10th St.,  classes in basics, followed by noon practica. $10 drop-in for the class. $5 practica only. (practica free with lesson) Free for men willing to dance with extra followers.

Gato & Andrea report that registration for the Argentine Tango Festival and official Competition next April 2012 has  begun. They offer a SUPER EARLY BIRD SPECIAL until Nov. 10 for both festival and competition (please note that only some passes apply and the payment must be with cash or check). Our next event will be at the Gallo Center, as Duo Riverado performs: Tuesday, Nov. 29,  7:30 p.m., Mary Stuart Rogers Theater. Duo Revirado combines a versatile, accomplished violinist and conservatory of music educated guitarist to create an incomparable chamber ensemble.  Their distinctive melding of guitar and violin produces beautiful and creative Latin, tango, jazz, and folk arrangements.  As tangos are one of their specialties, we are invited to dance in the lobby before the performance, between 6:15 and 7:15 p.m.. Single concert tickets are on sale!  Box seats $30, orchestra $25, parterre and balcony $20,  youth through high school $15.

MONDAY - Monday,  Tonight, Nov.7 & 14. Jacobs fine dining, 2501 McHenry.  tango practica and social dancing.  7-9 p.m.  Come early to enjoy a meal. No fee, but you are encouraged to order food or drink off the menu.

WEDNESDAY - 3-4 p.m. Beginner classes  at Senior Center: 211 Bodem (at Scenic). Enter through the front door and sign in.  No fee.

SATURDAY -Oct. 12  -  11 a.m.-noon at Sophia's Dance Journey,  711 10th St.,  classes in basics, followed by noon practica. $10 drop-in for the class. $5 practica only. (practica free with lesson) Free for men willing to dance with extra followers.
