Bulletin Oct. 8, 2007

Buenos Aires, Argentina! Gato & Andrea are putting together a tour of Buenos Aires for our Modesto group in July 2008. He needs a commitment from at least eight by the end of the month. The maximum they can accommodate is 14. If tango's birthplace intrigues you, see below for further information.

The workshops have been well attended; you're encouraged to attend one or more. Classes are listed below. Their last two sessions will focus on milonga. Classes start at 7:30, (a chance to eat early), end at 9 p.m. (a chance to practice after class).

Patrick finished his rotation, and Roman, with his elegant styling, will teach our Saturday classes this week. Today's Video of the Week features a summary of Patrick's lesson, as well as three performances by Gato & Andrea from our milonga, and their workshops.

Coming up: Nov. 6, at the Gallo Center, Tango Buenos Aires has taken the world by storm with its fast-paced rhythms and flawless coordination . The ensemble, featuring the creme de la creme of Argentine tango, includes 12 dancers, six musicians, a singer, dazzling costumes, and provocative choreography. This is a show we all want to catch, Tickets are on sale now and are quite reasonable -
$30 for the most expensive Box seats. You can order them on line from the Gallo
Center at http://galloarts.org. This is also a chance to spread word of Modesto Tango. We want volunteers at the doors as people leave, passing out cards advising the public of our existence. If able to help, contact me.
