TUESDAY

Sacramento -
Tango by the River, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento
Vals  in the Level III class!
The Tuesday classes run for 4 Tuesdays: January 5, 12, 19, & 26. Cost is $50 per person or $90 per couple for the month.
In Level I, you learn the fundamentals of Argentine Tango: the basic elements of the tango walk (caminada) and introduction of basic steps, emphasizing posture, leading and following skills, and interpreting the music.
Level II focuses on pivots and turns (including ochos and the molinete), and how to apply all steps learned so far into the social setting.
Level III changes every month but always focuses on technique, musicality, and taking everything into the close embrace.
Vals is  a beautiful form of the tango, and we'd like to help you refine and develop your vals. Many of the movements in tango can be used in vals, although you will find that dancers tend to emphasize turning steps and choose not to pause as frequently as they do in tango. So how do we take the 4/4 timing of tango and put it to the 3/4 timing of vals music? Well, come to the Tuesday night classes in January, and we'll show you how!
