Modesto Tango Bulletin, December 20, 2010

I am back from my cruise.  I had an opportunity to tango in Miami Beach and Los Angeles (Sherman Oaks), but not during the cruise itself.  Many thanks to Dennis and Laura who covered for me while I was listening to Christmas music with a Salsa beat.  We have ended our lessons for the year; they will not resume until January.  Have a Merry Christmas.

We would like more Argentine tango opportunities in Modesto. If we can find a good dance floor at a reasonable price, say $5 per person. what days and times would be best for you? Are you willing to pay a monthly subscription to ensure a no-cost opportunity to dance at least one day a week? What makes you want to dance? What keeps you away? Please click reply and share your thoughts. We will summarize the results in a future bulletin.

Our next milonga will be Wednesday, Jan. 12, as Tango Buenos Aires returns to the Gallo Center with a pre-show milonga in the lobby. We will sell $25 group tickets along the front rows of the "partere" section.  I am about to buy the tickets, which will either be delivered on site at the Gallo, or earlier, should I see you first. The group price is $22.50 each.  For tickets e-mail: mary.menz@sbcglobal .net

MONDAY - Tonight, Dec. 20 & 27. Social dancing and practica at Jacobs Fine Dining, 2501 McHenry. No fee, but you can order food/drink off the menu. It will be a fun evening in a good place to practice class material.

WEDNESDAYS - 3.p.m classes  on hold at Modesto Senior Center, 211 Bodem,

SATURDAY - Classes  at Sophia's Dance Journey, 711 10th St. (between G & H). ended for the year.  See you in 2011.
