Practica at Jacobs tonight - now Modesto's only tango outlet; have a glass of wine, meet other tangueros and enjoy the dance. With no classes now in Modesto, consider workshops and out of town milongas listed below.

NARCOTANGO. Concerts at Eastern Star Ballroom, 2719 K Street. http://thefirehouse5.tix.com The world-famous tango music group Narcotango's only Northern California visit. Besides the Saturday/Sunday night shows there will be workshops, practicas and milongas Friday through late Sunday. Artists from Buenos Aires to Berlin will teach and perform.

Narcotango is tango with electronic music. Since its inception in Buenos Aires, Narcotango became danced in milongas around the world.  Buenos Aires shops play it to give music to everyday life.  More info:  http://www.carloslibedinsky.com/ 
Throughout the weekend, world-famous tango instructors and artists will offer workshops for all levels, those who have never stepped onto a dance floor to those who have danced for years.  "La AlterNATIVA Tangathlon" is a chance to dance tango with world-class tangueros, hear music from renowned artists and learn more about Sacramento's tango community.

 Level I, fundamentals of Argentine tango. basic elements of tango walk (caminada) and introduction of basic steps, emphasizing posture, leading and following skills, and interpreting the music. 6:30-7:30 p.m. Level II focuses on pivots and turns, and  applying  steps learned into a social setting. 7:30-8:30 p.m. Level II - Intermediate Tango. Level III changes monthly but always focuses on technique, musicality, and  close embrace. 8:30-9:30 p.m. Level III Intermediate/Advanced Tango.
