Bulletin April 23, 2007

Peter ended his rotation with work on milonga "tras-pie" and entries into the academic 8 count basic. Sean and Charity are back on Saturday. An intense summer is ahead. Gato & Andrea return for workshops on Tuesdays in June and July. In late July and early August, Oscar Mandagaran will conduct workshops on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you also plan to attend Nora's Tango Week or Weekend (or both) your tango will surely shoot up several notches.

Also in this Bulletin

1. The Video of the Week features El Indio performing a milonga.

2. Last week to register for Nora's Tango Week at a lower rate.

3. Get tickets to Forever Tango

1.Apropos of our intermediate classes with Peter, particularly with the emphasis on "tras-pie" last Saturday, our Video of the Week features Pedro "El Indio" Benavente, performing a milonga at Plaza Dorrego, Buenos Aires. He is a regular at this San Telmo landmark with a demonstration & introduction to tango for tourists. El Indio and his charming partner bring equal elements of originality and style.

2. NORA'S TANGO WEEK 2007 - 10th ANNIVERSARY
The April 30 deadline is near for the $320 discount rate for Nora's Tango Weekend (3 FULL days), June 29 - July 1, and the discounted rate of $505 for Tango Week (5 days), July 2 -July 6, and the discounted rate of $725 for both the Week and Weekend (8 FULL days), Jun 29 -July 6.

They are close to achieving student-enrollment limit. This is especially true for Tango Weekend. So don't be left out; send in your registration as soon as possible, while there is still time to take advantage of the savings. The "HOMBRES DE TANGO" will provide live music at all eight Milongas and CELEBRATION TANGO! Ball on July 7. "MARIO ORLANDO", "The DJ" of the best Milongas in Buenos Aires ("Sunderland" -"El Arranque" - "Nino Bien" - "La Marshall" ) will provide his services as "DJ."

Those of you who are signed up should make hotel reservations now for the reduced rate of $89 (plus tax): Clarion Hotel at San Francisco Airport (800) 252-7466 or (650) 777-7771 Mon thru Fri. Be certain to mention Nora's Tango Week.
Any questions please contact: tangoweek@hotmail.com or visit our website

3. Forever Tango, the show that triggered many tango obsessions, will play Stockton May 26. Details: http://bobhopetheatre.com/eventdetails.asp?ID=128.
We hope some will take propaganda for our Modesto tango community. There is no Argentine Tango in Stockton. It will also play Fresno on Wednesday, May 30.
