Bulletin September 25

Modesto Tango is a non-profit association of
tango aficionados dedicated to sharing the
artistic, cultural and social aspects of
Argentine Tango in Stanislaus County.

Our weekend with Gato & Andrea is here! It
starts on Saturday, September 30, with three
workshops in the day and a milonga in the evening
at Jacobs. Then three more workshops Sunday. See
schedule below.

For the more ambitious, a series of workshops are
added on the following Tuesday, Thursday &
Tuesday (Oct. 3, 5 & 10). Information about
those to follow, and on
http://modestotango.googlepages.com/

These workshops will present a quick tour of the
richness of tango. G & A have more than 25
years combined teaching experience and have
performed in 20 countries. Their expertise
covers all facets of tango. They are friendly and
speak English. Their teaching style is based on
mastery of posture, balance, axis, weight
changes, rhythm and especially tango walk. They
emphasize interpretation of the music and
expression of emotion in dance. Gato Valdez
performed professionally in 1984 with the
Pugliese Orchestra in the film "Tangos, el Exilio
de Gardel" . He also appeared in other films,
such as "Gracias Maestro", "Evita" and "The
Tango Lesson".
Andrea's technique is flawless and she can spot
and correct a problem in an instant. And as a
special treat, a preview of Gato & Andrea dancing
to "Nueve de Julio"
