Bulletin - September 18

Modesto Tango is a non-profit association of
tango aficionados dedicated to sharing the
artistic, cultural and social aspects of
Argentine Tango in Stanislaus County.

Michelle led a great class on basic techniques
last Saturday. Roman returns Saturday, Sept.
23, our last class before our weekend with Gato
and Andrea. Again, intermediates are encouraged
to consider private lessons. The patterns that
Roman teaches require understanding and
technique. He finds it difficult to move us into
a higher level with eloquence. His private
lesson fee is $70; he pays the studio fee if you
use Ruby's studio. He is available Saturday from
8:30 or after class, and is willing to stay late
on Saturday.

I am accepting pre-registration for the Gato &
Andrea workshops, and will accept them until
Tuesday, Sept. 26. The workshops will present a
quick tour of the richness of tango. G & A have
more than 25 years combined teaching experience
and have performed in 20 countries. Their
expertise covers all facets of tango. They are
friendly and speak English. Their teaching style
is based on mastery of posture, balance, axis,
weight changes, rhythm and especially tango
walk. They emphasize interpretation of the music
and expression of emotion in dance. Gato Valdez
performed professionally in 1984 with the
Pugliese Orchestra in the film "Tangos, el Exilio
de Gardel" . He also appeared in other films,
such as "Gracias Maestro", "Evita" and "The
Tango Lesson".

Cost: One or two workshops: $30 per class (per person), - pre-registration $25
3 or 4 workshops: $25 each; 5 or 6 workshops: $22 each
Make checks out to Hugo Valdez or Andrea Monti.
Details in schedule below. If interested in
additional weekday sessions, contact me via
