Both classes are suitable for all ability levels. Suitable for all Followers and Leaders. No partner necessary. For much of the workshop you will be dancing solo. For the partner dancing the gender balance is insignificant. These workshops are about how you listen to the music and express it. Dance and practice to live bandoneón music as well as recorded music.
11:00 - 12:30 Dancing the Rhythm:
Basic units of tango rhythm. Simple, double and half-time step . When do we use each one of these?
1:00 - 2:30 Dancing the Melody:
Different than in other dancers, the rhythm variations in tango depend on the melody. Dancing the melody makes every tango different and gives the follower a completely different role . We learn the melodic rhythm as a system and how to dance with the melody.
This class is for all levels. It should be the very first class to take for somebody who wants to learn tango. But it is also very important for advance dancers that may dance the melody intuitively some times but do not know deeply the rules of the melodic rhythm.
