April will be a busy month for us.  The Argentine Tango USA Festival and Championship come up during Easter weekend.    Check out: http://tangousachampionship.com  to find out about  attending  in any capacity. Then the  luncheon at St. Joseph parish comes up on Wednesday the 18, and finally Chooi Goh of Sacramento returns to Modesto on April 22 to start a full curriculum with us.  She will be our guest instructor for the next few months as she completes her curriculum on alternating Saturdays during the 11 am basics  class and do a 2nd intermediate class. We regret the need to cancel last weeks practica at the last minute.  These are always pleasant evenings, so we look forward to resuming our practica at Urbano this week.  As stated,  on April 18, we are invited to the luncheon at St. Joseph's church on Oakdale (toward the back)  $8 buys our meal and tango music will be playing from noon to 1:15, for our dancing pleasure.   We can get there early to socialize, any time after 11 a.m.  Then, coming up on Sunday, May 21, the Kiwanis Omelette  Breakfast at the Seasons on 945 McHenry has invited us  to dance during the breakfast. We have  one of our newest member, Anthony Butera, well connected to both the Kiwanis and St. Joseph's parish, to thank  for these opportunities to dance before an audience that may never have been exposed to social Argentine Tango.  We have a chance to contribute to a good cause ($10 buys our breakfast) we get to dance the rest of the morning, from10:00 a.m. to noon.  Afternoon milongas are not that uncommon, but a morning breakfast milonga will likely break a mold, so, come one, come all and be involved in this mold-breaking.
