This week   promises more tango than usual in Modesto.  Friday, May 9, will see a milonga at Jacobs,


Come to Jacobs to enjoy an evening of tango, dining, socializing and dancing.

On the next day, Saturday,  Mayumi Fujio of the Bay Area will offer a couple of classes.  She has worked with some of the best in Buenos Aires and brings many Argentine tango masters to workshops in California. Don't miss this opportunity to meet and work with her.

  CALENDAR FOR THE WEEK

MONDAY - Tonight,  May 5 & 12 -  Social dance and practica at Jacobs' Fine Dining. 2501 McHenry.  No fee, but you are encouraged to order food or drink from the menu.  Some come early to dine.

 

WEDNESDAY -  May 7: Classes at the senior center,  211 Bodem.   2:45 p.m. - Beginning basics.  (Free).

 

FRIDAY - MAY 9, at Jacob Fine Dining, 2501 McHenry Avenue, 7:30 p.m.  $5 entry

 

SATURDAY -  May 10 - Classes at Studio V,  Pilates & Fitness.  4345 Spyres, with Mayumi Fujio.  First class with a focus on technique for all levels at  11 a.m.  the second continuation class at 12:30 for more intermediate dancers.  $15 for one class, $25 for both.


   MILONGA

Next Modesto Milonga May 9 at Jacobs Fine Dining, 2501 McHenry Ave.  No guest artist or introductory lesson, just a chance to dine, drink, socialize and tango. $5.

Registration Information. Classes Workshops & Milonga Schedules will be posted shortly.COMING TO MODESTO IN OCTOBER the Redwood Tango Ensemble.  Nothing beats dancing to live music, and this wonderful ensemble, featuring  one bandoneon, two violins, a string bass and a keyboard put out a wonderful sound. They will just have returned from the east, so mark you calendars for Saturday, Oct. 11.
