We start February with historian-technician Peter. Newer people are in for a treat.  The 10:15 a.m. class for absolute beginners and practica last week needed more women. Peter follows the introductory class.

CALENDAR FOR THE  WEEK
MONDAY - Tonight, Feb. 1 & 8: Social dancing and practica at Jacobs Fine Dining,  6:30 p.m., 2501 McHenry. Practice class material. All levels encouraged. No fee, but you're urged to buy food and/or drink. Come early to eat.

SATURDAY -  Feb. 6
Classes  at Juline School of Dance, 144 Woodrow (at McHenry), Peter teaching. Introductory class for absolute beginners 10:15 - $5, credited to the 11 a.m. beginner class with Peter if you choose to stay.  Intermediates at noon, $12.    1-1:45 p.m. guided practica, Practica only $5.

Eight Week Progressive Tango Course with Argentine Masters GATO & ANDREA. Special Guest Instructor Workshop in Sacramento. This workshop will introduce dancers to the fundamentals of tango  and progress to intermediate & advanced partnering. Hugo "Gato" Valdez and Andrea Monti are noted international artists with a  reputation for elegance, technique and musicality. They have participated in international events and tango festivals, performing and instructing for the last 12 years.  Their  performance style has been highlighted in  show clubs, restaurants, tango bars, and milongas  in Buenos Aires. They toured Brazil, Costa Rica, Africa, Malaysia, Singapore,  Indonesia, Australia, Spain, New Zealand, England, Sweden, Denmark, Norway,  Holland,  California and more!
Eight-week progressive course $160 per person
Couples: $300  registration closes at 7 p.m., Tuesday Feb. 9. Drop-ins welcome but space is limited. No refunds.  All students must register for this workshop series.
