What's New

Monday

Bulletin, November 2, 2009 -

Patrick finished October. This Saturday comes Peter, the technician.  Our November will have just three weekends. You can pay for all this Saturday, the first week.
Starting today, we make Monday practicas at Jacobs earlier. Many found 8 to 10 a bit late. Let's hope this boosts attendance
This Week's Video, Caroline Peattie and Christopher Nassopoulos summarize the concepts presented at their Argentine Tango workshops in Modesto and demonstrate the application of the ideas to dance.

Tango Argentino is an exciting look at tango music from Buenos Aires. The tango has long been one of the most exciting and sensual dances and now visits Stockton. With musicians from the Bay Area, Quinteto del Bailongo specializes in tango. The group features piano, bass, violin, guitar and bandoneón, an unique Argentine instrument made famous by tango. In this showcase they will recreate the exciting
music of Anibal Troilo and Astor Piazzolla, two of the most prolific composers in tango history. To compliment the music , the show will include two dynamic Bay Area dancers, Sean and Charity. Known for their charismatic approach to the dance, Sean and Charity will perform with emphasis on tradition and modern styles of the dance. To open the show local musician Jesse Christian Hendricks will present his
Spanish guitar music with his trio, Spanish Nights. The music includes flamenco rumba and other styles from Argentina and Brazil. This event is presented by Jesse Christian Hendricks Productions and is sponsored by the Stockton Arts Commission.
