Our weekend with Gato & Andrea felt successful. The workshops provided a good workout and the milonga at Jacobs lasted into the wee hours. This Saturday will not involve a lesson but a practica to rehash Gato & Andrea's material The next Saturday Patrick returns for a lesson.


MONDAY - Tonight, Oct. 19 & 26: Social dancing and practica at Jacobs Fine Dining, 8 p.m., 2501 McHenry. A good place to practice. ALL levels encouraged. No fee, but you're urged to buy food and/or drink. Come early to eat.
SATURDAY: Oct. 24 Tango "practica" at Julines School of Dance, 144 Woodrow Ave. Just off McHenry. 11 a.m. - $5 for practica. Absolute beginners at 10:15 - $5

Chacarera with Oscar & Georgina! Annual Halloween Costume milonga, Oscar & Georgina will teach the chacarera traditional Argentine folk dance) that'i\s fun and flirty. You can learn enough in one hour to dance it. Oscar & Georgina will demonstrate. Cost is $15 for lesson & dance; $10 for dance only. Costumes are encouraged (but never required)! Prizes for the best costumes!

For October: Milonga con Traspie. Milonga is not as technical as tango and is much more rhythm driven. While the music may seem fast, there is less to think about. The dance is both playful and fun. The práctica which follows is included in the cost of the class and open to the public for a nominal studio fee.
