What's New

Monday

Bulletin, Jan. 19, 2009

Sean & Charity's classes focused on cross system - going in and out, both partners on the same foot. This is unique to tango, so it is good to keep reviewing.  Saturday Charity will be with us; Sean will be out of state.  She is just back from Buenos Aires, performing with Tango Confusion, an all-woman group that has been performing in the Bay Area.

Our weekend with Carolint & Christopher is near - milonga flier follows.  Charity gave a strong plug for the classes as Caroline mentored her. Christopher will be D.J. and do the introductory lesson and dance demonstration at the milonga,. - Definitely worth looking forward to.

Anticipating Caroline & Christopheris a video in our on-line flier for our workshops: I am taking sign-ups for private lessons with them.  522-1571 http://modestotango.blogspot.com/2008/02/weekend-workshops-with-caroline-and.html

Jorge explores music on a different level.  Orchestras give music a flavor of its own. Some stress melody, others play with tempo. Each contributes in its own way to improvised variations in the dance, inspiring sequences and movements .  We need to feel the music and let it guide our steps.
Jorge Torres, a world-renown tango choreographer, dancer, and impresario of dance productions, is among the outstanding choreographers and dancers of Argentine Tango today.  Jorge Torres joined "Forever Tango" in 1995 and has been Troupe Dance Captain & Principal Dancer for the last eight years. He is currently Artistic Director for the American Tango Institute in Chicago, dividing time between teaching in New York and performing in "Forever Tango" worldwide.
