Modesto had a strong presence at Tango By The Rive Saturday. A group showed up for Christy Cote workshops, and more yet for the evening milonga.
More Gato & Andrea performance videos are available on our new website: http://modestotango.blogspot.com/search/label/Video

Saturday lessons continue this week; intermediates at 11 a.m. You can build on what you learn in class, with Gato & Andrea workshops or at the Christy Cote workshops in Sacramento, with private lessons. One private lesson a month often gives more than enough material to work on; Roman is available for privates as early as 8:30 on Saturday and can often stay after class. His $70 fee includes the studio fee.

December in San Francisco: a show worth attending.
The Leading Ladies of Tango with its 18 woman cast, is one of the most extraordinary tango programs ever conceived. Included is a seven-piece Leading Ladies Orchestra under the direction of Uruguayan pianist Polly Ferman, who will play Jovino Santos Neto's, Yara Luna, written specifically for this show and making its world debut. Jovino has been nominated for a 2007 Latin Grammy for Best Jazz Album. Ferman will also lead her ladies in music arranged and composed especially for this show by tango's foremost bandoneonist, Daniel Binelli, and 2006 Latin Grammy winner Pablo Ziegler, Many pieces in this show are either new or have never before been recorded. We can get a block of 20 tickets at $38 each; if everyone invites someone it will help our community grow. Plan for this now and we may get several carloads.

From Patricia Thatcher / Dear Tangueros and Tangueras,
Now is the time to register for Patricia's Buenos Aires trip next February 2007 which includes a two-night extension to Iguazu Falls and the chance to participate in the city's FREE and awesome TANGO FESTIVAL with free nightly concerts with the best tango orchestras, free classes, free outdoor milongas.... I give you plenty of information to discover "your own" Buenos Aires and make it your own unique experience. We don't go around together. I let you experience Buenos Aires like a local, not with a group of tourists who stand out at milongas and cafes. We will have a few group activities, such as a day excursion to Colonia and El Tigre and a group dinner and tango show. I do not provide taxi dancers, but tell you how to go to the milongas and get asked to dance and meet the real tangueros you needn't pay for!

My goal is to show you how to experience Buenos Aires like a local. A deposit of $350 holds your spot. All info is on my website at www.infusionstravel.com. Hotel upgrades and trip extensions are possible because as you know, I own a fully registered travel agency.
February 20 to March 8, 2007 BUENOS AIRES TANGO FESTIVAL
