Our next milonga and workshop will be Saturday, Jan. 7, with Marcelo Solis, our first guest instructor ten years ago. He has taught many years in the Bay Area.  A finalist in national traditional stage championship in 1994 and finalist in salon dance style in Buenos Aires 2010,  he focuses on technique. He will be with partner Olga Mateeva, who came to tango in with a strong background in classic ballet, modern and ballroom dance.  She  travels regularly to Buenos Aires to dance and continue studying, has worked with teachers Alicia Pons,   Nestor La Vitola, Monica Paz, Enriqueta Kleinman  and Jorge Kero. She also enjoys  salsa, swing and Argentine folklore.

 These classes are not to be missed.

Classes will be held at Jacobs, 2501 McHenry
2:30 p.m. All levels
4 p.m. - Intermediate

$20 one class, $35 both classes.
Evening milonga 7:30 Introductory class
8:30 milonga.  Class & milonga $10.  Milonga only: $5
Food and beverage available through the evening


MONDAY - Monday,  Tonight, Dec. 12 & 19. Jacobs fine dining,  2501 McHenry.  tango practica and social dancing.  7-9 p.m.  Come early to enjoy a meal. No fee, but you are encouraged to order food or drink off the menu.

WEDNESDAY - 3-4 p.m. Beginner classes at Senior Center: 211 Bodem (at Scenic). Enter through the front door and sign in.  No fee.
SATURDAY -Dec. 17  -  11 a.m..-noon at Sophia's Dance Journey,  711 10th St.,  classes in basics, followed by noon practica. $10 drop-in for the class. $5 practica only. (practica free with lesson) Free for men willing to dance with extra followers.

Friday 7-9 p.m. Tango Fundamentals: Connection, communication, and embrace,  weight change, walk,  turn in place and around the dance floor, change  of direction in parallel and cross walk  using suspension, pivots, and contra body motion.
Saturday 4-7 p.m. Common Tango Vocabulary Variations on walking, ochos,  displacements, stops, changes of direction, crossing, propelling, and blocking.
Sunday 4-7 p.m. The Inner Guts of Tango: Lead and follow windmill turns, changing directions  and stopping . Basic  hooks and leg wraps.
