Our Tuesday practica and Wednesday classes are cancelled this week, but the big event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 4, when Andrea Monti and Adrian Durso come to Modesto to teach a couple of workshops during the day, and participate in our milonga which will be held jointly with the new tango community in Sonora.

We are also being offered an abbreviated menu. It will be a full scale dinner dance. Look over attached menu.

WEDNESDAY: Nov. 1, no class at Modesto Senior Center,   

SATURDAY: Nov 4, Workshops with Andrea and Adrian. Andrea is the organizer of the USA branch of the Tango World cup which takes place in Buenos Aires every August. She is a very precise teacher and can help kick your tango up a notch. She has long been a friend to the Modesto community taking us on a wonderful tour of Buenos Aires a decade ago. She and her partner, Adrian Durso, who is also a tango singer offer a class aimed at all levels, with beginners particularly encouraged at 11 am, and a second class, at a more intermediate level at 12:30 pm Cost is $25 for one class, $45 for both


   MILONGA

The milonga that evening is in Oakdale, coordinated with the folks from the Sonora Tango community. We will be in the back room of Firenze's Restaurant on 502 North Yosemite Ave. Oakdale, Ca 95361. We will dance from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. $10. Includes introductory lesson and performance by Andrea and Adrian

Barridas and molinetes from back cohos were the topics of Kenny Bells lesson returnson Saturday and we will continue to work on them this next week. 

Then on November 4 we have a joint milonga with the folks in Sonora who have been working with Chooi, and we bring back Tango Master Andrea Monti, and her partner, Adrian Durso who last time was unable to get his visa to enter the US in time, but is in California now. They will teach a couple of workshops for us during th day, and perform at the milonga, there will also be a short introductory lesson before the dancing, so mark your calendars for November 4.

  CALENDAR FOR THE WEEK

 

TUESDAY: Oct. 24, Weekly practica at Urbano, a chance to practice what was covered in class, try out new stuff, eat, drink and socialize. 1016 H Street, 7 - 9, no fee, just fun. There is no substitute for floor time, and this is a good place to get some.  

WEDNESDAY: October 25, class at Modesto Senior Center, 211 Bodem Avenue. We work on basics. 2:30 - 3:30 pm. No fee.  

SATURDAY: October 28, We work on the concepts introduced by Kenny Bell. The class is at 11 a.m. Studio V. 4345 Spyres Ave., $10 unless you were present for Kenny's class, in which case the fee was covered.


   MILONGA
