Modesto Tango Bulletin, March 25, 2013

No class Saturday, Easter weekend. Last chance to make the festival at the S.F. Marriott Airport this weekend.  The next weekend, April 6, we host Patrick Alessandri to teach a couple of classes. Formerly one of our regular instructors, "the energetic one" when we imported instructors, Patrick comes with a ballet background. He was one of the original tangueros when Sacramento's tango community was growing. Cost is $15 for one class, $25 for both. 

The night before that, Friday,  we will host our regular first Friday Milonga.  All of this will take place at Jacobs Fine Dining.

MONDAY -  March 25 & April. Social dancing and practica, Jacobs, 2501 McHenry. 7-9 p.m., an opportunity to practice what we learned in class. No fee, but you are encouraged to order food or drink from the menu.  Some come early to dine.

WEDNESDAY -  March 27,  Celebrate the beginning of spring with the beginner class, at the Senior Center, 211 Bodem. 2:30 p.m.. free

A new series  with Donna & Nicholas,  covering Volcadas -- beautiful off-axis movements - elegant and graceful and oh-so-sexy.  Saturday, March 23, The Tango Del Rio milonga, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento   features a special guest performance by SANTIAGO CROCE & AMY LINCOLN! Santiago and Amy will perform during the milonga (around 10:30 pm). Santiago will also   DJ, playing traditional tango music from 9:00 p.m. until midnight -- and then Sacramento's very own Nicholas Washington will play alternative music from midnight until 2:00 am or so. Cost is $10.

We worked on "ocho cortado" Saturday, a move one encounters frequently at milongas.  We will stay with it in the Wednesday class.  Other than that, our regular classes and practicas in Modesto  go smoothly  for now.
