Friday, Sept. 14 - Tango Del Cielo at  Gallo Center with a free pre-show milonga .

After the show, food and a mini post-show milonga at Jacobs Fine Dining. Some performers said they might attend. 


Saturday, Sept. 15 - After class, we take part in the studio's grand opening. Our
15- minute time slot starts at 1:15 p.m.  Be there.


Saturday, Sept. 29 - Eduardo Saucedo, master teacher and dancer from Buenos Aires, will lead Modesto workshops at 2:30 and 4 p.m. and maybe give private lessons.  There will be a milonga that evening.  $30 a class, $50 for both.


USA champions Yumiko Krupenina & Ramada Salieri finished their competition in Buenos Aires.  They made it into the semifinals, an experience few get competing in the Tango World Cup.

Our classes are proceeding with little interruption.  Many special events are due in September (see below).  Meanwhile,  the USA- champions, both from California,  are in Buenos Aires preparing  to compete in the Tango World Cup.  Andrea Monti is keeping us posted, and I will do my best to keep you posted.

Our first Friday milonga was sparsely attended but fun.  It was good to have Bill Kern of Sacramento, a dancer who is fast becoming a Modesto favorite.
Much to anticipate  in the next weeks. We continued work  on sacadas last Saturday.
Next  Saturday, August 11, Michelle Gorre of Sacramento will teach ... at Jacobs, 2501 McHenry, (instead of VBoogie's studio)..

Michelle has taught  in Sacramento for years, has an extensive dance background.  
She will offer a beginner's class at 11 a.m., focused on technique, which  includes  isolations, drills, routines, a exercises to do on our own to be a better "partner". Then an intermediate level class, building on the first.  This will start at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $15 a class, or $25 for two.

On Saturday, Sept. 29, Eduardo Saucedo, master teacher and dancer from Buenos Aires, will lead Modesto workshops. He is the go-to instructor for private lessons.  There will be two workshops and an evening milonga; save the date and your cash.

Workshops with Iona Italia,  a passionate dancer and teacher based in Buenos Aires. She has performed and taught group and private classes in Buenos Aires, London, and in the USA. Currently  touring, teaching, and dancing in the USA while experiencing the diversity of the tango culture here. Iona's passion is social tango and her dance style of choice is Villa Urquiza; elegant,  graceful, and rhythmic traditional salon tango from the barrios of Buenos Aires. She is happiest at the milonga, in the embrace of a good dancer.
