Bulletin, August 17, 2009 -

We've had our last Racquet Club practica. Next Saturday we will meet at our NEW location, Juline's School of Dance, 144 Woodrow - suite E, at Woodrow and McHenry behind the India Bistro where we once had Monday practicas.  The new location is well lit, with many mirrors.
Thursday we are back at Concetta's for our monthly Art Walk milonga
   Hope to see us all there.

 CALENDAR FOR THE  WEEK

MONDAY - Tonight,  August 17 & 24,  Social dancing and practica at Jacobs,
8 p.m., 2501 McHenry Avenue. A good place to practice class material.  ALL levels encouraged.  No fee, but you're urged to buy food and/or drink.  Come early to eat.

THURSDAY - August 20, Art Walk Milonga at Cocettas, 1205 J. Street,  7 - 9.  Enjoy a glass of wine, some food, socialize  and tango.

SATURDAY - August 22,  First meeting at our NEW location. Juline's School of Dance, beginning with warm up exercises at 10 a.m., a chance to  share favorite moves and a short introductory class for absolute beginners. 144 Woodrow Ave.. $5 to cover club fees.  Regular classes will resume after Labor Day.

SATURDAY: Oct. 17
11 a.m. - Ladies technique and embellishments -
(Class  specific for women) -
12:30 - Milonga - (all levels) Rhythm and musicality. Close embrace and connection. Speed. Different walks. Plain milonga (easy and useful moves for the social dance, leading  transfer of weight). Combinations and perhaps   some traspié.
SUNDAY: Oct. 18
12 noon - Beginners workshop (all levels welcome!!) working on tango fundamentals with technique applied to social dance patterns. Changes of directions. Good resources for good navigation.Coordination and musicality. Flexibility of the embrace.
1:30 - Vals -Rhythm and musicality for vals. Specific figures in cross system. Use of the turns with syncopation for vals; double time and pauses. Different combinations.
1 workshop $30; 2 workshops $55; 3 or 4 workshops $25 each.
