What's New

Bulletin, Dec. 1 2008

Happy December.  Our year is near an end. I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was good even without classes last Saturday. Local tangueros traveled to the Bay Area and Sacramento to satisfy needs for a tango fix.

We resume classes December 6 starting with Roman Tabayoyon, one of our first instructors. It has been a while since we saw him, so it will be fun to have him and his elegant styling again if only for a week. He  will also  be available for private lessons and encourages them. (916) 425-2395 or e-mail zapata@surewest.net.

The first Saturday of the month is an opportunity to pay for classes in advance, $10 a class - $30 for the three-week month.  December teachers will be Roman, Carol Hom & Peter, each for one week, giving all a chance to experience their styles.

In January we will add 15- minute practicas to the beginner class and start the intermediates at 12:15.  Then we will have another practica from 1:15 to 2 p.m.

MONDAY - Tonight,  Dec. 1 & 8, Social dancing and practica at Jacobs,
8 p.m.,     2501 McHenry Avenue. A good place to practice class material.  No fee, but you are urged to order food and/or drink off the menu.  Some go early to eat.
SATURDAY - December 6 at Modesto Fitness and Racquet Club, 200 Norwegian Avenue.   11 a.m. Beginner level, noon Intermediate level, 1-1:45 p.m. guided practica $12 per class.  Practica only $5.  This week, pay for the month $30.  One-time introductory packages of nine beginner level lessons for $75 available.
